Campaigners are calling for voters to vote tactically to get rid of Rishi Sunak's Government as the Safety of Rwanda Bill passed through Parliament today.
The Bill was drafted in response to a UK Supreme Court ruling which found that Rwanda was not a safe country to send refugees and asylum seekers due to its poor human rights record and the risk that Rwanda would send people fleeing war, persecution and torture back to their countries they had escaped, something known as refoulment.
The Bill raised serious concerns as it enshrines in UK law that Rwanda is a safe country despite any and all evidence to the contrary. A war could break out in Rwanda tomorrow and under this legislation, UK judges would be forced to state that Rwanda is safe
The wider plan, to deport refugees and asylum seekers has also been roundly criticised as a blot on the UK's international reputation and because these people have been left with no other way to reach the UK after the Government closed safe routes to asylum.
The Bill will now become law after is receives royal assent.

"The passage of this flawed bill, which denies reality, soils the UK's international reputation and sets extremely dangerous precedents, marks a new low for this government and all to victimise some of the world's most vulnerable people.
"Mercifully, polls suggest this could be their last spiteful act and when the General Election does come, people must vote tactically for change."
