Best for Britain CEO named among most influential women in Westminster

Naomi Smith, CEO of Best for Britain and founder of tactical voting site GetVoting, has made this year’s Women in Westminster: the 100

Women in Westminster: the 100 celebrates the achievements and invaluable role women play in public life by recognising one hundred women who are leading the way in politics and public services. It includes parliamentarians, journalists, campaigners, civil servants, commentators and more.

The list, compiled by the House Magazine, aims to inspire the next generation of young women to get involved in public life, and this year includes a diverse line-up of women ranging from Reality TV star Georgia Harrison, who was at the centre of debates about revenge porn and online safety in 2023, to Baroness Hallet, Crossbench Peer and Chair of the UK Covid-19 inquiry as well as Sue Gray, Chief of Staff to Keir Starmer.

The announcement comes ahead of International Women’s Day on Friday. In including Naomi, the selection panel highlighted her work on trade policy through the UK Trade and Business Commission and campaign for electoral reform and tactical voting as a means of achieving it.

Naomi Smith said,

“I’m delighted to have made this year’s Westminster 100  and along-side so many remarkable women.

“While women still face a myriad of challenges, both within politics and beyond, I feel optimistic when I look at the brilliant work that the women around me are doing; not least at Best for Britain where we wouldn’t be able to make the impact we do without such a strong team of women on our staff. My inclusion in this list is for them. In the word’s of Dolly Parton, ‘I’m not offended by dumb blonde jokes, because I know I’m not dumb and I also know I’m not blonde”
