The Prime Minister is facing criticism and calls to improve trading conditions for British Farmers following his speech at the NFU Annual Conference
His address to the National Farmers Union comes amidst rising criticism that new trade deals, post-Brexit red tape, poor responses to flooding and rising costs have put farmers under intolerable strain, compromising the country's ability to feed itself.
Naomi Smith, Chief Executive of Best for Britain said,
“This government has sold out British farmers at every opportunity but think they can hoodwink the country again with promises of non-existent technology.
“The next government must do better. The best way to help farmers is with a Youth Mobility Scheme to tackle labour shortages, an independent board of trade to protect them from fire-sale trade deals, and beneficial regulatory alignment to slash red tape.”
